About ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring in paint’ by Art Fiorala

For this piece, I took a classical portrait as my starting point, but applied the paint so thickly that it almost feels as though it has only just been painted. This gives the image a less polished, more lifelike quality.

You see a young woman with a pearl earring, a blue headscarf and a serene expression. At the same time, the image is anything but neatly finished. The paint still runs visibly across the face, the headscarf and the clothing. This gives the work more tension than a smooth or perfect portrait.

The painting contains many layers, details and paint texture. A crystallisation technique has also been used.

The face remains calm, whilst the paint around it retains a great deal of movement. The light blue, cream, ochre, gold and brown keep the painting in balance.

It is precisely the visible layers and details that give the work its own character.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
