During our sailing trip through the impressive Scoresby Sound in Greenland, we were constantly surprised by the rapidly changing weather and the magical light. This image was captured at a moment when a thick, dark cloud cover seemed to be taking over, but the sun still just managed to find a gap. The inspiration for this work was the sudden transformation of the landscape: from bleak and menacing to a spectacle full of hope and warmth.
In the foreground, a solitary iceberg floats majestically in the dark water, surrounded by smaller ice floes in the distance. What makes this work truly unique are the subtle details in the background: the massive mountain faces of the fjord are spectacularly illuminated on the right-hand side by warm, golden sunlight.
