Golden evening glow at the Wulfener Hals by Friedhelm Peters

This piece captures the magical evening atmosphere of a dreamlike sunset on the picturesque south coast of Fehmarn – right at Wulfener Hals. As the sun touches the horizon, it bathes the distinctive cliffs in a deep, warm light. The view stretches along the stony beach, where the gentle waters of the Baltic Sea softly lap against the pebbles. It is the details that bring this image to life: every texture in the sand, the washed-up seaweed and the rough stones in the foreground are highlighted by the light of the golden hour, inviting you to linger. The image was taken on a clear, cool evening in March. There was an almost untouched silence, as there were hardly any tourists on the island at that time. It was a play of contrasts: whilst the air was bitingly cold, the light of the setting sun appeared so intense and warm that one forgot the cold for a moment. It is a feeling of absolute freedom and a genuine holiday atmosphere in its purest form – without the hustle and bustle, just oneself and nature.
