About "Golden grasshopper"

About the artwork

This image made it to honourable mention at the Green Camera 2023, one of the most prestigious competitions for nature photography in the low lands (Netherlands and Belgium). The male golden grasshopper is a rewarding subject due to its fluorescent golden-green colour. In the right light, this makes them both magnificently coloured and particularly well camouflaged in the grass. The reddish-brown touches also make the creatures blend into brambles. This specimen was warming up in the early morning sun in one such bramble, where there was also hedge vetch growing through it. The whole makes for a dazzling and pleasant picture.
The photo was taken in Amelscheid, in the Belgian Ardennes just on the border with Germany. The wet meadows along the numerous streams in the area provide an ideal habitat for this beautiful field grasshopper. Moreover, it is also a beautiful region for hiking.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
