Bronze sculpture "construction worker" whose outstretched hand seems to reach through the perspective for the ball of the Berlin TV tower.
The monument stands on the north-eastern edge of the historic centre of Berlin and only a few metres away from Alexanderplatz.
The work was created in 1968 by the sculptor Gerd Thieme. It shows a construction worker pointing with his outstretched hand towards the television tower. We could not interpret the symbolism of the work, so we stopped for a short stop with some photos, in which the worker seems to hold the ball of the television tower in his hand.
