"Gray Angelfish, Bonaire" photograph was taken while diving Something Special Reef in Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands. While their French Angelfish cousins are abundant in the waters of Bonaire, Gray Angelfish are very rare. I was fortunate enough to have this large one swim right past me leaving the reef to go deeper into open water. I was able to focus my camera quickly and capture a perfect silhouette against a background of open ocean and foreground of soft coral. In my opinion, the Gray Angelfish is one of the most beautiful monochromatic fish in the ocean. I wanted this photo to reflect the beauty of their subtle colors and shape.
