Green wooden house by the water

by Troy Wegman

A green wooden house by the water, with a red tiled roof and a white trimmed facade. This wall art shows a traditional Dutch village scene and brings the calm of the Dutch countryside into your home. You see a row of old wooden houses along a canal, a white footbridge on the right and a deep blue sky with thin streaks of cloud.

Wooden houses by the water are among the most familiar sights in the Netherlands. They stand beside quiet canals, and their reflections in the water complete the picture. That stillness and the unmistakably Dutch character make this a popular landscape print for anyone who loves historic architecture and traditional villages.

The colours are bold. The deep emerald green of the facade, the warm orange brown of the roofs and the intense blue of the sky create a striking contrast. The warm, low light gives the walls a golden glow and softens the reflections on the water.

This piece suits a living room, where it becomes a warm focal point above the sofa or dining table. In a hallway or bedroom it feels especially calming. A lovely print for anyone who loves water, greenery and village scenes with character.
