Nothing beats d' Olle Grieze

In the heart of Groningen, where history meets contemporary vibrancy, the Martinitoren - affectionately called d'Olle Grieze - towers stately above the cityscape. During the May Fair, the Grote Markt transforms into a vibrant spectacle of light and movement, where the fairground attractions form a spectacular contrast against the city's old grey guard.

This photo, taken during a clear spring evening, captures the dynamic scene of illuminated attractions shining under the night sky. The carousel, with its ornate seats hanging from glittering chains, happily spins its rounds, while visitors float with views of Groningen's historic skyline.

The lights of the fair not only reflect the vibrant spirit of Groningen, but also enhance the majestic sight of the Martini Tower, which watches over the city with an almost reverent calm. The interplay of light and shadow, old and new, is a visual poem that perfectly reflects the unique atmosphere of Groningen during the fairgrounds.

"Er gaat niets boven d'Olle Grieze" is an expression that takes on a deeper meaning here, amid the festive noise and colourful lights, once again emphasising the connection between the present and Groningen's rich past.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
