Ground red Pepper at the market in Orissa, India.
The Adivasi in India what are the original inhabitants of the region of Orissa grow this themselves, and after drying grind it after which they can be found, either with the powder, or with the dried chillies in the markets nearby. Through old-fashioned bartering, they then provide themselves with other ingredients or livestock such as chickens and goats.
