Seasonal autumn landscape with mushrooms growing on a tree branch, seen from the frog's perspective lying on the forest floor covered with autumn leaves. Atmospheric blur background with incident autumn light and a beautiful depth of field focus from a low perspective.
A group of white milkstalk mycena mushrooms in a picturesque autumn forest. These beautiful little mushrooms grow on a mossy stump of an old oak tree. They are milk mycenas, one of more than 35 different species that we know in the Netherlands.
Mycena is a genus of fungi that belongs to the platelet agarics (Agaricales). It is a family of fungi that includes species with medium to small mushrooms. They have a cone to bell-shaped cap that is white and finely striped by the lamellae, which are slightly visible through the cap. The cap is wrinkled and gray to gray-brown in color, brown in the center and paler at the cap edge. The stem is thin and has no cuff. Some species have milky sap tubes in the stem, which, when broken, release a white sap.
