Long exposure of the groynes on the Baltic Sea on the Darß peninsula in spring.
The Darß peninsula is located on the German Baltic Sea coast in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is part of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park and lies between the two Bodden waters, the Saaler Bodden in the west and the Bodstedter Bodden in the east. The peninsula is known for its impressive nature, including extensive forests, dune landscapes and coastlines.
The largest town on the peninsula is the Baltic seaside resort of Prerow, which is located at the narrowest point of the Darß peninsula. Prerow has a wide sandy beach and is a popular holiday destination. The entire region attracts many visitors who appreciate the unspoilt nature, the diverse birdlife and the tranquil atmosphere.
The Darß peninsula also offers various leisure activities such as cycling, hiking and water sports. The characteristic thatched houses in the villages add to the picturesque atmosphere of the region.
