About ‘Guardians of Marcuello’ by Peter Bartelings

The ancient tower of Castillo de Marcuello and the adjacent chapel have watched over the rugged landscape of Aragón for centuries. The weathered stone buildings stand proudly on the green hill, silhouetted sharply against the deep blue sky. A striking photograph brimming with Spanish history and timeless beauty.
About the photographer

Born and bred in Amsterdam, Peter Bartelings feels a strong connection to his city. Over the years, he has frequently captured Amsterdam, from iconic locations to lesser-known cityscapes. Cities and landscapes both at home and abroad, as well as nature and macro photography, also form part of his versatile portfolio.

As well as photography, Peter is involved in digital art. In this, he combines photography and image editing, giving classical masterpieces, amongst other things, a contemporary, sometimes surprising twist. Peter’s work is regularly sold and has now found a home on walls in various European countries.
