It depicts the garden of a farmhouse in the countryside, filled with light. Le Vaudreuil is on the lower reaches of the River Seine in northwest Paris, halfway between Rouen and Les Indries. It is very similar to other works created around 1900, such as the short, overlapping painting style and the distinctive swirling cloud shape. Moreover, there is a record that Durand-Ruel bought this painting from the artist himself in February 1903, so it was probably painted in the early 20th century.
