About the artwork

An exact picture of the original painting harvested in la crau by Vincent van Gogh in 1888.

I spent a lot of time creating this image in beautiful realistic fresh colours as I think Vincent van Gogh intended it to be.

The painting was made during Vincent van Gogh's time in Arles in Provence, France.

The harvest shows farm life on the hayfields of the arid Crau plain, during a clear summer day. Shown are the different stages of harvesting. The work is built up in layers. In the foreground we see the mowed corn and in the background the purple-blue mountains of the Alpilles, against a turquoise sky. The Abbey of Montmajour is also just visible. Although small in size, for Van Gogh the peasants' work was an essential judgment of the painting. Peasant life was a recurring theme in his oeuvre. On view are a haystack, ladders, several carts and on the right a man with a pitchfork. The essence of the work, however, is the depiction of what he called the "summer sun effect"and the specific atmosphere of the summer day. He makes the sultry heat of the sun almost palpable.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
