It is always fun to see a hedgehog walking through your garden.
The hedgehog is an insectivore, looking for its food mainly in the undergrowth. It uses its snout to trace its prey among fallen leaves, clumps of grass and loose earth, while its hearing is sharp enough to hear prey crawling under the ground. Given the chance, a hedgehog can eat more than eighty earthworms and/or beetles within a few hours and devour around seventy grams of food in a night. Fifty grams is more than enough.
