Sleeping hedgehog in winter is a hand-painted watercolour painting in portrait format by the artist Karen Kaspar.
A hedgehog snuggles up under a snow-covered fir tree in a peaceful winter forest, peacefully dreaming and hibernating. Soft blue tones and light snowfall create a peaceful winter landscape.
This work, a combination of painting and haiku, is a joint project by Karen Kaspar (© art) and Marjolein Rotsteeg (© Haiku).
A haiku is a traditional Japanese poetry form consisting of three lines.
Here the watercolour painting has been supplemented with the haiku in Dutch. In my portfolio there is also a variant with the poem in English (see album 'Haiku and Painting English'). The painting is also available without text (see album 'Animals').
All proceeds from the sale of prints of this hedgehog haiku artwork will be donated to the Avolare Wildlife Hospital in the Netherlands (avolare.nl). Purchasing one of these artworks supports sick and injured wildlife such as hedgehogs and wild birds. Give yourself a wonderful gift and do good at the same time!
You can find more paintings with haiku and poems in my albums 'Haiku and Painting English' and 'Haiku and Painting Dutch'. New works are constantly being added to the albums. So keep checking back from time to time!
