One of the few private cemeteries in Germany was created between 1830 and 1840 by the first Höllhammer owner (iron hammer) Georg Ludwig Rexroth. The hammer owners and their relatives were buried here. The graves with their artistically decorated cast-iron crosses are surrounded by 22 oak trees that were once planted at equal intervals. The wrought-iron crypt in the centre of the cemetery is worthy of note. Georg Ludwig Rexroth was buried in this crypt in 1854. The last Höllhammer owner from the Rexroth family, Friedrich August jun. died in 1919. The hammer mill became a farm again, which came into the possession of the Reitzenstein family.
