About ‘Hop, Upupa epops’ by Gert Hilbink

The hoopoe is easily recognized by its reddish-brown plumage with a long black-pointed crest, which can be raised when the bird is excited. The tail and wings are black and marked with broad white stripes. The bill is long and thin. A striking feature is the pronounced stench that the animal spreads because on the one hand the nest is never cleaned (food waste and manure remain behind) and on the other hand because the female has a gland at the base of her tail, which spreads a heavy stench during the breeding season. A nickname for the hoopoe is the cockchafer. The hoopoe is an insectivorous meadow bird. The call of the hoopoe sounds like hooping, hooping, and although the sound is not loud, it can be heard from a great distance. The body length is 26 to 28 cm and the weight is 75 grams.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
