Hunebed Havelte: Mystical Night-time Photograph – Fine art print by Fotografiecor .nl

This image captures the ancient power of a Drenthe hunebed in the dead of night. Through deliberate, dramatic lighting, the enormous boulders stand out against the dark field, whilst the stately tree in the background cuts a silvery silhouette against the night sky. The sharp beams of light cut through the darkness, lending the hunebed an almost supernatural presence. This is no ordinary nature photograph; it is an evocation of our earliest history.

A special silence reigns over the Drenthe heath as evening falls. Whilst I was illuminating this hunebed, I felt time fade away. These stones have lain here for thousands of years, but in the light of my lamps they seemed, for a moment, to come back to life. For me, it was a quest to capture the contrast between the monument’s immense age and the fleeting flash of modern light. The result is an image of pure magic.

This piece is an absolute ‘conversation starter’ for your interior. The combination of deep black, mystical blue and dramatic light makes it a powerful work of art for a living room or study with a modern, bold décor. It transforms the space and transports the viewer to the raw essence of the Dutch landscape.
