The inflorescence of the Hydrangea is an umbellifer consisting of a multitude of small flowers. Each individual flower is already a work of art by Mother Nature and, in this digital one-line drawing, I chose to magnify precisely this. The work is set down in one flowing line. The simplicity of the drawing gives strength to the flower; I like to challenge myself and draw flowers in one simple line, without detracting from their beauty. The minimalist rendering also gives a certain transparency to the image, something I like to work with. I look at nature, flowers and plants and all the beauty Mother Earth has to offer us. I live it, experience it, feel it and that moves me. I see the strength and the vulnerability, the wonder and the beauty and all this gives peace, warmth, love. We should cherish and love this. Nature can do very well without humans, we cannot do without nature!

I was always drawing ー as early as primary school, the margin of my notebooks was full of scribbles that didn't have much to do with what was supposed to be there. A lot of nature, especially flora.
