Holland is a region in the west of the Netherlands, divided into the provinces of Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland. However, these two provinces are not quite the same as the region of Holland. For example, the town of Woerden has changed its province several times (between the provinces of Zuid-Holland and Utrecht) and is now in the province of Utrecht. Another example is the town of Vianen, which was in South Holland until 2002 and has been in Utrecht since then. Vianen merged in 2019 with the South Holland municipalities of Leerdam and Zederik to form the new municipality of Vijfheerenlanden, which became part of the province of Utrecht.
