About ‘Ice floes in Iceland’ by KC Photography

Ice floes originating from the Sólheimajökull glacier on an Iceland. The Sólheimajökull is a glacier in southern Iceland. The glacier is an offshoot of the great Mýrdalsjökull.
An ice floe or ice shelf is a piece of floating ice created when previously contiguous ice surfaces around the poles or on rivers, seas and other waters warm up and drift apart. The huge icebergs and ice shelves (shell ice) that break off from the ice sheets on and around the mainland in the Arctic or Antarctic (Southern Ocean) are also sometimes referred to as 'ice floes'. The ice floes that occur on rivers are usually broken-off pieces of floating ice. These can sometimes pose a danger to bridges. This is because they can get stuck between two piers, putting great strain on such a structure.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
