The Iceland poppy (Papaver nudicaule), also called the naked-stemmed poppy, is a plant species of the genus Papaver within the poppy family (Papaveraceae). This species of poppy, which is native to subarctic regions, flowers in light yellow, white and orange-yellow to red, depending on the subspecies. As an ornamental plant, there are varieties not only in the natural colours and shapes, but also as cultivars in various variations.
