Imposing façades at Prague Castle

by Xander Broekhuizen

High above the city, near Prague Castle, an impressive example of historic architecture unfolds. This long, pale yellow façade stands out for its symmetrical design, tall windows and the refined decorations surrounding them. The repetition of the windows lends the building a stately and almost monumental character.

Photographed from a low angle, the façade appears to stretch endlessly towards the clear blue sky. The warm sunlight accentuates the building’s light tones and beautifully highlights the architectural details. The surroundings exude history and grandeur. After climbing the high steps, you find yourself in a world of impressive buildings, large squares and remarkable architecture. A place where Prague’s rich history is visible on virtually every street corner.

A photograph that focuses not so much on a single recognisable monument, but rather on the beauty of the historic architecture that gives Prague such a distinctive character.
