The macro photo: "In green: The reflection of a Zeeland Knotweed" is a photo of a still life of a single flower of a cream-white and green Zeeland Knotweed (also called Astrantia Major ) . This little flower is completely open and standing, leaning on its stalk hidden behind the flower. The ground surface, on which this little flower stands, is reflective and has a relief at the same time. This creates beautiful reflections of the Zeeland Knot but in an abstract, almost painterly representation. If you zoom in on the photo, you can see this clearly.
The background of this still life blends nicely with the different shades of green in the flower. This creates a sense of calm in the photo as the colours recur.
The depth of field in this photo is quite small. I chose to put the focus on the "small flowers" (I think these are the stamens). Everything before this point or behind it slowly fades away. This creates a sense of depth in the picture, which also brings calmness.
This work could, for example, beautifully hang as wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom, dining room or, of course, simply above the sofa in the living room!
