Autumn greetings on the Hoher Ifen:
The first snow has cloaked the high mountains in a silent, silvery dress. From the Walmendinger Horn, the view opens up across to the Hoher Ifen, whose striking rock platform rises into the sky like a huge table. The frost delicately draws lines across the slopes, as if winter is quietly signalling that its time is coming soon. The last green of summer still shines between the grey rocks, timidly, almost humbly before the cold that settles over the land.
Kleinwalsertal lies deep beneath this panorama, hidden in the soft light of October. A hint of fog drifts through the valleys, while the sun sweeps over the snowy surfaces and bathes them in a golden glow. The wind carries the scent of ice and stone, of freedom and transience.
Up here, at 1990 metres, silence and vastness merge into a moment of pure presence. The Hohe Ifen, 2230 metres above sea level, towers motionless above it - witness to countless seasons, guardian of a valley that never quite stands still and yet always finds peace when the first snow falls.
