The Indian Eagle Owl lives around the Himalayan mountains in India and Nepal. They do not live higher than 2,400 meters in the mountains. They live in rocky areas and forests, but can also be found in the area where the forest transitions to the more inhabited world. On arable land they can easily catch their prey. The vast majority of their diet consists of mammals (mainly rodents), followed by insects and birds.
