About "Into the Blue. Baltic Sea trip by ferry with glassy seas and sunshine"

About the artwork

View from the Baltic Sea ferry Kronprins Harald from Puttgarden on Fehmarn (my old home) to Rödby.

Untypical mirror-smooth Baltic Sea and spray from the ferry's bow wave against the light. The reflections of the sun sparkle on the shallow waves of the blue water. The movement of the white foam of the spray is frozen.

The ferry line on the Vogelfluglinie between Fehmarn and Denmark has played a very special role in my life. Today we like to take the ferry on holiday to Denmark. Back then, when I was still living on Fehmarn (over 35 years ago), I liked to take the ferry to Denmark just for fun. On the old ferry "Deutschland" I worked in the duty-free shop for two months.

What does the picture mean to me personally? Good memories of Fehmarn and the Baltic Sea. The view of the water in this picture gives me inner peace and tranquillity. For me, it's like a good dream with restful sleep.
