This work forms part of a larger, three-part composition and offers the viewer a poetic glimpse into a landscape whose full expanse is only revealed when all three panels are viewed together. Even as a standalone piece, this section exudes a particular sense of tranquillity, whilst at the same time hinting at the continuation of the scene beyond its boundaries and inviting the viewer to imagine what lies beyond.

Painted in a slightly impasto style, the work captures the spirit of the Japandi style. Minimalist forms, a harmonious composition and a finely tuned, nature-inspired colour palette merge to convey a sense of timeless serenity and inner balance. At the right-hand edge of the picture, a large green branch enters the scene, its gently swaying leaves gently guiding the eye through the composition. In the upper part of the picture, a flock of Japanese cranes – traditional symbols of peace, happiness and stability – traces its path. Moving almost parallel to the line of the branch, they head towards a deep, warm sun, whose dark red hue lends the scene a quiet power and a grounding presence.

In the lower section, only faintly suggested, undulating mountain ranges are visible, hinting at distant horizons rather than revealing them. The generous empty space between the sky and the landscape is a central compositional element. This deliberate openness creates space for silence, contemplation and the viewer’s own imagination.

This work was conceived as part of a harmonious triptych. It is only when all three panels are brought together that the entire landscape reveals itself in its spatial expanse and narrative depth. For collectors who prefer the composition in a single, unified presentation, the motif is also available as a large-format panoramic landscape painting.
