I made this painting in early spring. In a still barren winter garden, the Japanese ornamental cherry blossom was jubilating for weeks. The exuberant, pink blossoms stood out beautifully against the steel blue sky and the deep green pines. I grabbed a chair and sat down under the tree. With a laptop on my lap, I created this digital painting: old-fashioned "en plein air" but with modern, digital technology.
