There is something special about the moment an Airbus aircraft approaches Polderbaan, the precision, the slowing down, the calm after the flight. I was standing at a familiar spotter's spot along Polderbaan when this Airbus approached. The plane was descending in an elegant line, the landing gear already unfolded, and the turbines still softly nailing from completion. As the plane hit the tarmac, I felt that typical combination of power and control that characterises a good landing. The vast polder in the background emphasises the sense of space and scale so characteristic of this runway. For me, this image is an ode to the end of a journey, a moment of transition, where everything comes together: technique, timing and confidence.
