Nikko, Japan, is home to the Kanmangofuchi Abyss. This is a small gorge near the centre of Nikko and was created after the eruption of Mount Nantai. A footpath runs along the water where this row of about 70 stone statues of Jizo, a Bodhisattva watching over children can be found.
