In Japanese, Kanso (簡素) means simplicity. Kanso emphasises simplicity and the elimination of the superfluous. Things are expressed in a sober, simple and natural way. Kanso invites us to think not in terms of decoration, but in terms of clarity, a clarity that is achieved by omitting or excluding the non-essential. It's about eliminating the superfluous and concentrating on what is important. It is the very expression of modesty and simplicity. So far I've worked on three different series of 'Sanko' for VC 2026, Pi. One is a very minimalist 3D work. Another uses rounded, or at least fluid, shapes in a very simplistic way. The third uses angular geometric shapes and clean lines, with a minimalist colour palette (limited colour palette).
