Karl Isakson (1878-1922) was a Swedish painter of the early 20th century. His work, influenced by post-impressionism, is characterised by expressive colours and forms. Isakson, who started out as a self-taught artist, later studied at the Royal College of Art in Stockholm. Known for his landscape paintings with a mix of realism and abstraction, he sadly died early at the age of 44. Despite his short life, he left a significant influence on Scandinavian art.
