About ‘Kestrels’ by John Smits

small falcon with long tail. Distinctive reddish-brown back in all dresses. Male with grey head and grey tail with black terminal band, female with entirely reddish-brown upperparts, including strongly banded tail. Shallow, calm flight, prays a lot. In silhouette, the long tail is distinctive, wing tips less pointed than in other falcons. In sit, the tail extends well beyond the wing tips. Short toes. The kestrel hunts mainly mice. These are mostly (up to 90%) field and voles. It also eats large insects, lizards and young birds. The kestrel is an annual guest and is present in the Netherlands throughout the year. They do not necessarily stay in the same place. Northeastern European kestrels overwinter here or migrate further. During prolonged snow, 'our'kestrel also migrates away.
The kestrel is usually seen hanging still in the air, or 'praying', in search of mice. While doing so, they sometimes make many wing beats, but the head always remains on the same plate

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
