My favourite bird, whose colours stand out particularly well against the dark background. The kingfisher is often called "the blue flash" but here you can still see that this little bird has a warm orange belly.
Underexposing the photo darkens it. Then, in post-processing, the exposure of the kingfisher was corrected and the background slightly reduced. This made the colours of this beautiful bird stand out much more. The details in the plumage are also clearly visible.
The reflection of the light sky in the eye also makes the eye come alive, rather than becoming a dead black bead.
