Kingfisher at the Kalmthoutse Heide in Belgium. A blue flash and a whistling call: A kingfisher often announces himself. This birds are mainly birds of streams and rivers with sweet, flowing water, but they also breed on still water (especially in the Netherlands). They dig nest tunnels in sandy or lean steep edges. In the winter you'll see them more by open and brittle or salty water, looking for enough food - small fish, water insects - and ice-free, clear water to get that food. Strong winters make many victims among the kingfishers.

Hi, how nice of you to come and take a look at my work! My name is Astrid Brouwers and I have an enormous passion for nature. I really enjoy everything that grows, blooms and especially everything that crawls around. With my photos I would like to show others how beautiful nature is and also inspire them to go out on their own. That's why I also give courses in Nature Photography.
Every day I post a photo on Instagram for inspiration. This webshop is updated regularly, but if you have seen a photo on Insta that you can't find here, you can always email me. I will add it to my website. You can find more information on my website: https://www.acc-fotografie.nl
