The Köhlbrand Bridge is undoubtedly one of Hamburg's landmarks. Since its opening in 1974, it has offered cars and trucks the possibility to cross the 325 m wide Köhlbrand, a branch of the Elbe. The two towers have a height of 135 metres and are also visible from the surrounding area of Hamburg. In the middle, there is a clearance height of 53 metres, enabling ships to sail to the Container Terminal Altenwerder. From 2026, a tunnel is to be built through which the traffic will pass under the Köhlbrand. After its completion, the bridge will be demolished in 2034. At the end of April, you have the opportunity to photograph the sunset directly behind the Köhlbrand Bridge. If you catch it at the right time, the sun will be exactly between the two bridge piers. Welcome to my shop. I'm Christian and I've been taking pictures since about 2015. I like the light and the quietness of the morning and evening hours and try to capture them in my pictures.
My pictures are taken on trips, day hikes or right in front of my door...
