Koi in Silence

by Christian Ovís

Koi in Silence depicts an orange-and-white koi in dark water amongst smooth rocks. The fish swims diagonally from the top left to the bottom right, with light-coloured fins and clearly visible scales. Along the left bank, red, orange and yellow leaves hang over the water. Small ripples and faint reflections can be seen around the stones. The dark pond forms a stark contrast to the bright fish.

The composition emphasises the curved line of the body. The rocks frame the open water and draw the eye to the koi’s head. Warm leaf colours echo the orange of the fish, whilst cool blue-grey stones bring a sense of calm. Subtle patches of light reveal some shapes beneath the water’s surface. The contrast between sharp scales and softer reflections lends depth to the scene without adding too many elements.

This koi wall decoration is suitable for a living room, hall or quiet workspace. Orange and red bring warmth alongside dark blue or neutral tones; grey and cream complement wood. A plain wall emphasises the contrast between the fish and the water. From a distance, the koi and autumnal leaves stand out. Up close, the scales, delicate fins and tiny ripples become visible.
