This is a photograph of an abandoned diamond mining village called Kolmanskop near Lüderitz in southern Namibia. Many of the buildings have been partially taken over by the desert. Other buildings are just slowly decaying. All this together gives a very special atmosphere. To walk around in buildings where more than 100 years earlier the employees of the diamond mine walked around. Furthermore, I always love to see how buildings change as they slowly decay. A unique place!
