About ‘LOST PLACE: The End of the Line – The Forgotten Station’ by HyggeHavn

This photograph shows the deserted concourse of an old terminus station, where the tracks come to an abrupt end. The perspective guides the eye along the tracks directly into the warm light at the end of the hall, whilst the damaged glass roof above lets in gentle rays of sunshine. Puddles on the floor reflect the light and heighten the unique atmosphere, somewhere between decay and beauty. Graffiti on the walls, rusty fixtures and crumbling structures tell of a time when movement, arrivals and departures once took place here. Today, an almost palpable silence hangs over the place – as if time had stood still.

Inspiration:
I wanted to capture the special atmosphere of a dead-end station – a place where journeys end and decisions are made. I am fascinated by this moment of standstill, where nothing leads any further, but a new beginning becomes necessary. For me, this image symbolises turning points in life, conclusions and the chance to find new paths.

As a wall mural or wallpaper, this motif is ideal for modern living spaces, lofts, offices or creative studios. It brings an urban, contemplative and yet aesthetically powerful atmosphere to the room – perfect for anyone who appreciates art with depth and history.
