This work shows the iconic Lago Verde in Lanzarote, a natural wonder where vibrant colours meet. The emerald green lagoon, formed in the crater of an ancient volcano and filled with algae that create the striking hue, lies next to a black lava beach that contrasts with the turquoise waves of the Atlantic. The warm, red-coloured rock formations add an earthy depth to the landscape, and the small nearby white houses in the village of El Golfo emphasise the island's serene simplicity.
This scene is a tribute to the primal force of nature and the harmony of opposites. The inspiration for this work lies in Lanzarote's unique geological history and how the elements - fire, water, air and earth - come together in a crushingly beautiful composition. The atmosphere is soothing yet powerful, an invitation to reflect on the beauty and mystery of our planet.
With this work, I try to convey a sense of wonder and balance. It emphasises how beauty sometimes emerges from seemingly harsh and extreme circumstances. In an interior, this work can serve as a soothing focal point that brings the power and splendour of nature inside, an unforgettable conversation piece that enlivens the space with colour and emotion.
