In December 2024, I travelled through the beautiful Lake District in England for a week. After it had rained and stormed there non-stop for weeks, I was lucky. Not a drop of rain all week, until the day of departure. Then the weather was wet and bleak and uniformly grey.
During that week, I took this photo.
A simple scene, but despite this it still caught my attention. Particularly because of the imposing winding trees. The (open) gate below automatically leads the viewer further into the picture.
