Landscape with lake and poppies in summer

by AidasignArt

This summer landscape painting depicts a scene of tranquil vastness and gentle movement. The slightly impasto painting style lends the surface a vibrant presence; the materiality of the paint becomes visible, almost tangible. In the right foreground, a meadow rises gently, strewn with wildflowers. Cornflowers add cool accents, while bright poppies give the surface rhythm and draw the eye into the picture.

To the left, a tranquil lake opens up, dominating most of the composition. Its smooth, almost contemplative expanse counterbalances the lively texture of the meadow. Trees and shrubs grow densely along the shore, their muted forms marking a natural boundary between the water and the distance. Behind them rise medium-high mountains, stretching across the entire width of the picture like a silent horizon and lending the landscape a timeless dimension.

A light blue sky streaked with clouds spans the scene. The sun, hidden behind them, floods the painting with diffuse light that neither dazzles nor dramatises, but gently carries the summery atmosphere.

The work is part of a series dedicated to the same pictorial idea, varying it in different formats. This creates a dialogue between repetition and change – an ongoing exploration of light, space and painterly perception.
