About ‘Lanterns in Jiufen’ by Renzo de Jonge

Jiufen is a town in Taiwan. During the Japanese occupation, it was a gold-mining town and the Japanese miners then dressed the town to their style. This can be seen to this day. The town, it seems, was also the inspiration for the animated film Spirited Away.

At a large temple in the town, lanterns were all hanging. No idea…
