Simple things can have a big impact on how you feel. You smell cooked cauliflower and you are immediately in an old people's home. I have the same with these tied-up lavender bushes. They immediately take me back to the south of France, where they were photographed. In Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, to be precise. We first arrived on 1 May, but that's a big Labour Day celebration in France. We had nowhere to go, so we headed out very early the next day.
