Lefkada lighthouse - Keeper over the Ionian Sea

by Ewold Kooistra

High on the rugged cliffs of Lefkada, this iconic lighthouse stands like a silent sentinel over the Ionian Sea. From the sky, an impressive spectacle unfolds: steep limestone cliffs disappear into the deep blue waters while heavy clouds gather over the horizon. In the distance, a waterspout emerges, a rare natural phenomenon that adds to the turbulence of the moment.

This aerial photograph captures the essence of Lefkada: raw, pure and untamed. The lighthouse forms a powerful contrast to the threatening weather and symbolises steadfastness, orientation and safety amidst natural violence. The play of light and shadow, combined with the vast scale of sea and sky, gives the image an almost cinematic feel.

As a wall decoration, this picture not only brings a sense of adventure and freedom into your home, but also tranquillity and depth. Perfect for lovers of seascapes, Greek landscapes and powerful drone photography that tells a story.
