Evening sunlight on the hills of the Sacred Valley, Peru.
The holy valley of the Incas or the holy valley of the Incas (Spanish: Valle Sagrado de los Incas) is a valley in the Peruvian Andes near the Inca capital Cuzco. Overall, it includes the whole area between the village of Písac and the ruined town of Ollantaytambo in parallel with the Urubamba River 'sacred river'.

The valley was highly appreciated by the Incas for its specific geographical and climatic advantages. It was one of the most important centres for agriculture and is still the best place for the cultivation of maize in Peru.
