About ‘Lines in Silent Equilibrium’ by Whale & Sons

This work consists of a network of lines - sometimes sharp, sometimes fading - intersecting on a calm ground of beige and sand. The composition looks like a map without a destination, or a memory of architecture, blurred by time.

The structure is loosely geometric, but never rigid. The lines are applied with a gentle hand, in layers that sometimes seem to float above the canvas. The ground itself contains subtle nuances: from warm cream to pale ochre, with a hint of grey here and there.

The work exudes balance, but also movement. An ideal piece for spaces that demand tranquillity but should not feel empty. Think living rooms with natural materials, quiet workplaces or bedrooms with linen, chalk paint and wood.
