Little chimney in a tetra print

by Mathilde Pelder Art

This colourful abstract composition is a Tetrapak print created using acrylic paint and oil pastels

This expressive graphic art print combines abstract shapes, bold blocks of colour and playful lines in pink, blue, yellow and red. The image is a stylised representation of a small chimney from Chéniers in France. It is reminiscent of a stylised human figure, constructed from geometric shapes and loose, sketchy details.

Here, too, you can recognise my penchant for layered composition and bright colours. This time, combined with delicate lines created using a Tetra Pak print.

The technique: Tetra Pak printing is a graphic printing technique in which the inside of an empty drinks carton is used as a printing plate. Lines and shapes are scratched or cut into the material, after which ink is applied, wiped away and the image is printed onto paper. This creates unique works of art with surprising textures and an artisanal feel.

The combination of Tetrapak printing, acrylic paint, tape and oil pastels creates a vibrant texture and a unique, handmade character. The visible lines and irregular prints give the work a spontaneous, experimental feel.

A colourful and quirky work of art that adds an artistic touch to a modern, creative or eclectic interior.

This work is created entirely by hand, without any digital processes or the use of AI.
